Lemon Tahini Sauce

Tahini sauce is a creamy Middle Eastern condiment made from toasted, ground sesame. In short, tahini is basically a ground sesame. 

It is served by itself as a sauce or a dip or as one of the ingredients in Hummus or Baba Ghanoush. This irresistible creaminess Tahini sauce is a perfect condiment to grilled or Roasted vegetablessalads, Colorful, nutritious, vegan bowl falafel bowlsfalafel sandwich, etc. Naturally vegan, gluten free, dairy free and paleo friendly.  

This easy lemon tahini sauce is made with basic ingredients.

  • 3 tbsps. Tahini (trader joe’s) or any store  
  • 3 tbsps. fresh lemon juice  
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil 
  • 1 tsp cumin powder 
  • 2 tbsps. warm water 
  • 1 tsp kosher salt  
  • 1 tsp pepper  


  1. Combine all the ingredients of the Tahini sauce in a bowl and whisk together.  
  2. Add little water to thin the dressing up so that it’s easy to drizzle on top of the pita.  
  3. Since this sauce has a lovely creamy consistency, you can use it as a salad dressing as well. 
  4. This recipe is vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and plant based.
